Investment Banking Analysts have to maintain the finances of the company, and they have to monitor the investment banking transactions. Another thing they have to do is pitchbooks. Pitch books are powerpoint presentations that focus on the company’s positives, in hopes of attracting new clients, selling products and they’re used as a visual in a presentation. They provide assistance/guidance to investment bankers.

Training: Investment banking analysts need a strong understanding of math, and there are multiple training programs in the firm. In these training programs, the new analysts learn what accounting, risk, markets, financial statement analysis, and financial modeling is. After they complete training, they still take education courses, which are provided by the employer.

Job Prospects: People with graduate degrees will have the highest chance of getting this job.In addition, with all the new technology that is being developed, the future of investment banking looks grim. Specifically, artificial intelligence is becoming more and more of a reality as time goes on, and it may put investment banking out of existence. For example, instead of workers spending 16 hours a day filling out spreadsheets, the AI can do that in about a minute, reducing the need for market research analysts; a similar trend could affect investment banking analysts everywhere as time passes and technology continues to develop.
